Our adventure can take place either at your favorite or one of his own special places outdoors.

Dan’s specialty areas include: birds & bird behavior; wildlife ecology; wildlife tracking; wild foods foraging; small & big game hunting; land-use history; vernal pools and more. Looking for something a little different? Dan also offers customized nature guiding as well for individuals and groups.

From common backyard birds to rare vagrants, Dan will help you learn how to identify birds by sight, sound and behavior – as well as help you learn to speak bird! Join Dan on a two-hour, half-day or full-day birding experience to remember. Adults only or family-friendly options available.

Hire Dan for a guided tour you’ll never forget. Interested in the history of the landscape or deciphering the stories of wildlife on the landscape. Maybe you’re more into trees, wildflowers, foraging, birds or pollinators – we can focus on those topics too. This is truly a customizable experience. Adults or families are welcome!

In fact, many anthropologists agree that developing skills as trackers is what led to early humans being able to read as well as practice early science.  Join Certified Wildlife Tracker and tracker trainer Dan Gardoqui for an unforgettable experience that will help you see the natural world in a whole new light. Are you curious about wild foods and foraging? Does uncertainty and concern stop you from sampling healthy, wild foods? Experienced forager and naturalist Dan Gardoqui will help you learn how to find, harvest and safely consume healthy, wild foods. We’ll stroll the fields, forests and shorelines, all the while connecting with the wild plants, trees and fungi. Adults and are families welcome!


Hunting Guide Services

Are you looking to add local, wild game to your diet? Maybe you didn’t grow up in a hunting household and need guidance in learning how to get started. Dan’s hunting guide services include:

  • New Hunter Orientation: are you an adult-onset hunter? Via coaching calls and/or field visits, Dan can help you navigate your way towards becoming a hunter, including: legal requirements, wildlife natural history, choosing a weapon, scouting techniques, hunting tactics, game processing, etc.
  • After the Hunt: maybe you know to hunt a deer, but are still sending it to a butcher. Learn how to store, age, skin, butcher and utilize most parts of your harvest on your own with Dan’s helpful guidance.
  • Guided Hunts: For those interested in a more traditional guided hunt for whitetail deer, wild turkey or small game (e.g. gray squirrel), or goose (dry land) please click the button below.
